What to do if your electricity goes out

It is a priority to check that if your electricity blows up, to find out if it is just yours that is off or if other people are disturbed too. If the problem is affecting other people then you can call the Emergency Help Line number for the supplier company where you live and they will facilitate and inform you on how long it will take to fix supply to your home.

Your local electricity supplier is answerable for the power supply in your area. They are answerable for the wires and cables that connect your home to the National Grid.

If your home supply is off, check your trip switch. If your trip switch is in the off position switch it back on. If it switches off again, it is likely that one of your electrical appliances is broken. To find this out, switch off all your appliances at the plug and re-set the trip switch back to the on position and switch on your appliances one at a time. If after doing this the trip switch goes off again you have discovered the faulty appliance.

If this matter is not resolved and your electricity is still off after checking the appliances, there may be something wrong with the wiring. We will be able to help and give details when you call.
